I love British culture!

The photos say it all.

Where else in the world could you stand in the street with thousands of people, watching nervously for flaming barrels of tar being carried your way?

Only in Ottery St Mary and only on Bonfire Night. You have to see it to believe it. And now I have. Well done Britain!

And thank you for your helpful comments about what I've been doing for the last month. Here are the actual answers:
1. Enjoying waffles in Brussels
2. At Scientastic, Brussels, trying to work out what this man ate for lunch (it's an exhibit)
3. Trying on a petticoat at the People's Palace in Glasgow
4. Comparing my hand to a gibbon's at Paignton Zoo
5. On the (very wet) deck of RRS Discovery (it went to Antarctica, but is now in Dundee)
6. Cooking a real Scottish haggis

p.s. watch out for the barrels!

Comments:
I take it OH&S & Public Safety hasnt really caught on in the UK yet?

Tamara :-)
