Rhine awe saw us!*

*Translates as "we saw the Rhine and it was awesome".

In our continued quest to see as much of the world as possible without catching a plane, we caught the train over to Germany to see Cologne (or Köln if you are German, which most of the people there seemed to be, seeing as though it is in Germany) and the Middle Rhine Valley. This is an historic (i.e. chockers with castles) and picturesque (i.e. chockers with pretty castles) area in the south-west of Germany.

Heather has added her favourite places to a Google Map of the area, which you can access by clicking here.

For those that aren't Google Map experts, start by clicking the Satellite or Hybrid view, and then just play around, zoom in and out, drag the map around, click on the little pins, that kind of thing. It's fun, eh?

You can also click on the photos for bigger versions.

If you have Google Earth, click the KML button and open the map in Google Earth for even more fun.
