For geeks' eyes only
So, while Heather was off watching flaming barrels, I stayed in Bristol watching horror movies. I've been watching a lot of movies lately, and I quite like writing about movies I've seen. Anyway, it all started as an argument between me and Pak. He said the only movies worth seeing are the big blockbusters, whereas I thought the best movies are the cheaply made independent films, because they are so much more interesting. Even if a lot of them turn out to be bad, at least the film-makers don't waste $100M on them. So we transformed our weight-loss battle blog into a movie review blog. After all, no-one else has thought of doing movie reviews online, have they? Feel free to join in the fun by clicking here, or on the Holland vs Woon link on the left.
CAUTION: We haven't necessarily been seeing nice family movies, so I would suggest mums, kids and anyone with a nervous disposition maybe shouldn't visit the site - although I think the Superman Returns review is OK.
I've also been playing around with e-commerce by adding Google Adsense and Google Analytics to Holland vs Woon to see how the whole commercial blog thing works. We're not expecting to make any money, but it's fun to play around with all the same. Google Analytics gives a complete summary of the location and time of every visit to our website, and is enormously addictive. For example, we had four visits to our website from the U.S.A. last week. Who are they? I don't know. Will they visit again, well, if I keep checking maybe I'll find out. Better check now... hmmm, someone from Bristol has visited the site four times in the last day. Intriguing. What about Adsense? Well, our earnings to date are $0.00. Nice.

Hehe. I know and love all the words. I got a certificate at school camp in grade six for singing this particular classic.
