It was definitely grand...

The Grand Canyon. It's massive, it's beautiful, and my brain could not quite make sense of how far it was down to the bottom! We saw it at sunrise, sunset, from about 15 different lookout points, on foot, in the car, up a tower, and peering nervously over the rim. And every time it was grand!

Other highlights of our Grand Canyon Road Trip (although they were no Grand Canyons) included the Giant Sand Dunes, ancient cliff homes of Mesa Verde and Bandelier, trucker-sized meals, a meteor crater and the mighty Rio Grande. Lowlights of the week included paying to see the only point where four US states meet, getting ripped off by the meteor people ($15 to see a hole in the ground) and leaving the Grand Canyon.

You can see a few more of our photos here (and they're not all of the Grand Canyon).

Comments:
Looks a bit bigger than your aussie's version of the canyon :)
